I just added new municipalities in Target Location in the Ecom Dashboard. However in actual website, I noticed that City/Municipality was changed into Free Text field. In Ecom V1, we can see a dropdown of listed locations. Was this a change in design for the present version?
Answer:
We added cases for the behaviour of City field.
Case 1: When the Shipping method is location-based and includes a City on the filter → Display Select Dropdown
Case 2: When no shipping method is set that uses city as filter → Dispay open Text field
The advantage of the open text field is it's more inclusive to customers, sometimes the Geolocation API does not display the city they want.
Additionally, to remove address fields on the checkout page, simply predefine them on your Ecommerce store settings.
